Welcome to the Leelanau Peninsula!

Established in 1863, Leelanau (pronounced LEE-lah-naw) County is located on the 45th parallel in northwest lower Michigan.

Bordered on three sides by Lake Michigan with 100 miles of shoreline and 33 inland lakes, it's no surprise we are called the "Water Wonderland".

Around every bend in the scenic “Little Finger of Michigan” are signs of a vibrant history telling intriguing stories of the Anishinaabek, European settlers, maritime commerce and leisure, agriculture, logging, resort life, and early transportation.

Each numbered location represents a Network Parter (i.e. museum, historic site) that you can visit to experience local history. Scroll down to view the list of Network Partners.
